Kay's Story
"Our" first telephone call was on September 09, 2002 at approximately 8:30 p.m. I, Kay Black (birthmother), was at my oldest son's home in Texas, along with my husband, youngest son, my granddaughter (I thought my only grandchild), my oldest son, and daughter-in-law. My Mom called me and said I think my granddaughter just called you here (in Baton Rouge, LA). After Mom gave me her phone number, we conversed and after just a few short minutes, it was pretty certain that – yep, we did match! Then, we continued talking and crying together -- and then we E-Mailed photos. A very wonderful and happy evening, especially to my youngest son because he had been asking me to find his sister since he was 14-years old. Never did I keep my daughter a secret from my sons, because I always told them that I prayed that someday they would get to meet their sister. Larry (my husband) and I moved to Baton Rouge (back home for me) November 2001 and Jennifer and her family live in St. Amant, LA (near Gonzales/Prairieville, LA). Jennifer and I have become very good friends, and we all share the same wedding anniversary along with my parents (June 5th). Our relationship is just more special and wonderful than I had ever prayed or hoped for during the 32 years that we were kept apart. The remainder of our children and grandchildren are in Houston and Conroe, TX.
The only way to explain of all of the above, is praise and thanksgiving to Our Awesome Heavenly Father! Without Him, we can do nothing! In the strong name of Jesus. Amen.
